Add Some Spring to Your Indoor Color Palette

The arrival of spring is rejuvenating on many levels, from boosting our energy levels to clearing out our mental cobwebs. You can usher some of spring’s freshness into your home as well, especially with the addition of one or two of the colors from Pantone’s spring/summer color palette for 2021. You can incorporate these bright hues through painted accent furniture, linens, pillows, carpets and more. Take a look at the following shades and think about where they might add a fresh vibe to areas of your home.

Brilliant Blues and Greens. The colors in this palette range from an array of muted tones to dramatic shades, such as Cerulean, which conjures up the color of the sky on a bright, sunny day to French Blue, a deep shade of azure. Add a crisp dose of green with shades like Green Ash or Mint. Great for cabinets and accent pieces, be sure to look for these colors in upholstered furniture, too.

Warm, Sunny Hues. Nothing says spring and summer like shades of orange and yellow. Check out a bright yellow called Illumination or the more vibrant yellow-orange shade, Marigold. Balance these pops of color with an earthy tone, like the red-orange Rust.

Bright Pinks and Purples. Take your cue from spring and summer’s breadth of spring flowers and bring some vibrant pink and purple tones into your home. Check out Raspberry Sorbet, a vivid magenta color, or a warm shade of violet known as Amethyst Orchid.

Rich Neutrals. Try combining one of the bright color palettes above with always classic neutral Shades like Buttercream, a warm off-white, or the camel-colored Desert Mist. These versatile colors can help balance any other colors in your home and serve as the perfect backdrop for bright spring colors.
