Make Sure Your Listing Photos Are Primed to Sell

More than ever, today’s homebuyers are spending countless hours reviewing possible homes online before ever contacting an agent to see the house in person. That’s why the photos that run with your online listing are critical toward attracting as many potential buyers as possible. Make sure your listing photos include the following to help your home stand out:

All angles of the exterior. It’s not enough to just have a photo of your home from the curb. Be sure to include side and backyard areas, porches, decks, balconies, etc.

Appliances. If you have new and/or unique appliances, get up close and showcase them in your photos. Do a few wide shots of your kitchen, then zoom in on its key selling points, like a double oven, smart fridge or touchless faucet.

Closets. If you’ve got big, beautiful closets, show them off. Stage a walk-in closet with just a few choice clothing and accessory items to ensure it appears as expansive as possible.

Special features. Is there a fireplace in your bedroom? Unusual stone work in your kitchen? A pet center in your mudroom? Whatever custom or unique features make your home special, be sure they get specific coverage in your listing photos.

Storage space. From the garage to the attic, highlight your home’s ample storage space. If you’re selling a condo or co-op and the facility has a storage room for storing bikes or seasonal equipment and decor, be sure to highlight that as well.

Nearby attractions. Is your home on a golf course? Share photos of the course and club. Are you part of a housing community with rights to tennis courts, a pool or private beach? Make sure they’re showcased. Does your home butt up to a hiking or bike trail? A nature preserve? Ski area? All of these are key selling points, so show them off in your listing photos.

Aerial views. Drone photographs will give potential buyers a birds-eye view of your home and property, as well as the street and/or neighborhood. If you’re near a body of water or wooded area, show off those features from an aerial view as well.
