From faux finishes to painted ceilings, try one of these paint trends to bring vitality and a fashion-forward sense to your home.

Go green. Choose from an array of complex shades of green to add ambience and mood to a room—from deep forest hues to variations of olive and sage.

Add contrast. Add instant interest to your interior design by painting trim in a contrasting color. Use a different and/or darker shade of white for crown molding and baseboards, for example. Or go a little bolder by painting window frames in a striking shade of black. The options are limitless and easy enough to change should you grow tired of the look you’ve created.

Paint the ceiling. Referred to as the “fifth wall,” ceilings are often overlooked when it comes to creative paint options.
