BOULDER, CO, Apr 19, 2024—With the right price point, staging and a bit of patience, it’s possible to sell your home during any season. But summer is a special season when it comes to listing and selling your home. Below are four tips from Phil Boren, Broker Associate of RE/MAX of Boulder, Inc. to sell your home faster this summer.
Curb appeal is king. “It may sound tired, but curb appeal really does matter, especially during summer,” says Boren. Hopefully you’re already on top of things like keeping the grass mowed and the exterior freshly painted. However, summer offers many areas for improvement: window boxes full of fresh flowers, new welcome mats by the front door, or a garden bed with a fresh mulch job.
Play up outdoor spaces. One of the loveliest things about summer is the extended time spent outdoors. Does your home have a patio, porch or deck? “Make sure these areas of the home are expertly staged, with outdoor cooking and lounging areas,” says Boren.
Stage for summer. Make your space feel as bright and exciting as summer itself. Swap out heavy warm linens for cooler ones, dark window curtains for ones that let in light, and place fresh flowers and fruit around.
Temperature control. “If potential buyers enter your home and feel overheated, you’ve got a huge problem,” says Boren. Make sure your HVAC unit is working well, and if you don’t have central air, consider purchasing window units for the initial entrance spaces.
