Helping your children study will increase their educational success. Great study habits are learned, so help set your little student off to a good start with these seven practical tips, from Kumon.Create a consistent study routine. Set a specific time, say, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., for your child to study. This kind of structure will help them stick to it, and prevent procrastination.
Stop cramming. Don't let your child wait until the night before a big test to study. By sticking to a routine, you can help them prep in advance.
Space out learning by alternating subjects. Monday is for math, Tuesday for science—you get the idea.
Review notes within 24 hours to prevent the "forgetting curve." Go over study subjects every afternoon to help things stick.
Get some sleep. Bedtime is just as important as study time. Power down electronics an hour before bed and create a soothing sleep ritual, like reading together, or playing a gentle game of cards.
Encourage regular study breaks. Hours of uninterrupted studying isn’t realistic for younger kids. Pepper in study breaks for heightened success.Discourage multitasking by removing all distractions. No phones in the study zone!
